在1992年12月1日RTCA批准了DO-178B之后,一直延续使用至今,并未发行新的DO-178C。
在长时间的工作之后,RTCA批准了DO-178C的系列文件,在2012年初正式发布。
下文为原文详细报道:
I am very pleased to report that, RTCA’s Program Management Committee (PMC) approved all 7 of SC-205/WG-71’s submitted documents on 13-Dec-2011. Numbering is as follows.
1. DO-178C, Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification
2. DO-278A, Guidelines for Communications, Navigation, Surveillance, and Air traffic Management (CNS/ATM) Systems Software Integrity Assurance
3. DO-248C, Supporting Information for DO-178C and DO-278A
4. DO-330, Software Tool Qualification Considerations
5. DO-331, Model-Based Development and Verification Supplement to DO-178C and DO-278A
6. DO-332, Object-Oriented Technology and Related Techniques Supplement to DO-178C and DO-278A
7. DO-333, Formal Methods Supplement to DO-178C and DO-278A
RTCA is working hard to publish these as soon as practical and they are coordinating this with EUROCAE. We can look for these documents to be available early in 1Q12.
The FAA & EASA recognition for these documents may take a bit of time. This is not as simple as just calling out DO-178C/ED-12C in a short advisory circular. but it is being worked.
Also, Jim Williams (Director of Systems Engineering, FAA Air Traffic organization) reported that the modifications to DO-278A will result in the FAA recognizing DO-278A as an acceptable means of compliance for future FAA procurements for air traffic systems.
It is estimated by the secretary that the total cost (including travel and cost of manpower) is €51,718,391 for these documents. Therefore, as SC-205/WG-71 has written 194,268 effective words, each word in DO-178C costs €266.
